TIG Welding
We offer TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welding, which is applied when the highest quality weld is required. It is ideal for fabricating light materials such as aluminium, magnesium, copper alloys and thin stainless steel. It works by creating an arc between a TIG Welding electrode and the surface, and an inert welding gas, usually Argon, is poured over the weld pool to prevent oxidisation. The primary function of the inert gas is to protect the molten electrode, the weld pool and heated metal from the damaging effects of the surrounding air, as well as creating the optimal circumstances for the arc.
TIG Welding is used for on-site welding issues, architectural stainless steel fabrications and thin-wall tubing products such as bicycles.
It requires the most skill of all the welding processes offering enhanced control and stronger welds, but takes longer and is more complex to deliver consistent high standards than other methods. We have a highly skilled and experienced workforce here at Premier Welding Services who are able to deliver the highest standards. Equipment is clean and well maintained to produce maximum quality fabrication for our customers. The machinery we use comes from leading manufacturers including Miller, Lincoln Electric and Hypertherm.
If you have a steel fabrication issue which requires TIG Welding don’t hesitate to call us on 0114 243 0555 to find out more about the solutions we can provide. Alternatively, we’re more than happy to advise you on any aspect of the TIG Welding process.
